Sunday Greetings- sharing a number of updates on COVID-19 related topics as we reach the end of February.
- IL Supreme Court Ruling: What does the IL Supreme Court's decision to 'vacate' the February 4th, 2022 temporary restraining order issued by Judge Grischow of the Sangamon County Circuit Court mean to our students in staff in Marissa? Ultimately, in conjunction with Governor Pritzker's announcement that effective tomorrow, Monday, February 28th, Illinois will end its requirement that masks be worn in schools except for 'areas of high transmission,' it means that our students and staff will be permitted to 'maskless or mask optional' as long as the CDC and any similar local mandates do not require an alternative approach.
- CDC Issues New Guidance: Late Friday, the CDC exercised its enforcement discretion and is no longer requiring that people wear masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/child care programs. Therefore, effective tomorrow, Monday, February 28th, students are not required to wear a mask when riding a bus- wearing one is an option that children and/or their parents may consider.
- Marissa COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics, New Dates Set: Wednesday, March 9th, and Wednesday, March 30th, 1 PM to 6 PM , Marissa Elementary School. Registration information will be posted soon.
Wishing You a nice Sunday- great day to watch the rest of the ice melt and enjoy the sunshine!
